Whim's Internship Program is cultivated to provide hands-on experience and upper-level management mentorship to individuals interested in Marketing and Business Management with a focus on Event Management, Nightlife & Entertainment, Branding and Experiential Event Production.

Effective: Spring 2017

Position: Multiple Positions Available - specify in application (all MAJORS are welcome to apply)

  • Business Management Trainee
  • Marketing Director Trainee
  • Tech Lead Trainee

Payment Status: Unpaid Internship with Incentives. School Credit Applicable  

Reports to: Stevon Judd, Managing Partner

Location: Whim NYC HQ – 355 8th Avenue, New York, NY 10001 & Remote

 

Business Management Intern

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Business forecasting, updating financial projections
  • Update Executive Summary decks and related materials
  • Attend investor meetings
  • Conduct research projects as needed, such as competitive analysis and trend reporting

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • College students, recent grads or individuals interested in career transition - Business majors preferred

  • The ideal candidate is one who's thought about starting their own business

  • Experience writing business plans, proposals, pitching, etc. is paramount

  • Proactive and resourceful self-starter with the ability to quickly solve problems

  • Keen listener, organized and pays close attention to detail

  • Has a strong interest in social events

  • Ability to adapt and learn by experience

  • Works well independently and in a fast paced environment

  • Owns a personal computer

 

TIME COMMITMENT

  • 15 - 20 Hours/wk; Mandatory In-Person Weekly Meetings
  • Must be available some nights and weekends for Whim NYC events

Marketing/Design Intern

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review our current marketing materials and make suggestions/changes

  • Create marketing materials such as electronic press kits, marketing materials, etc.

  • Create and execute marketing strategy to acquire and engage clients

  • Conduct research projects as needed such as competitive analyses and trend reports

  • Manage and report on company and client social media sites

  • Support the planning and execution of company events

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • College students, recent grads or individuals interested in career transition

  • Must have keen strategic vision with regard to product and service marketing

  • Experience with copywriting and/or blogging

  • Keen listener, organized and pays close attention to detail

  • Strong interest in and knowledge of the public relations, brand management and/or experiential marketing industries

  • Knowledgeable and/or proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Design, web design, Mailchimp and Internet Research

  • Ability to adapt and learn by experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Works well independently and in a fast paced environment

  • Owns a personal computer

 

TIME COMMITMENT

Quality Assurance Intern

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Test software enhancements, document issues and identify areas of improvement

  • Make suggestions for improvements to the user experience

  • Create documentation for testing software

  • Client on-boarding assistance

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • College students, recent grads or individuals interested in career transition - Business majors preferred

  • Understanding of Quality Assurance testing principles

  • SQL and/or database structure/technology experience

  • Proactive and resourceful self-starter with the ability to quickly solve problems

  • Keen listener, organized and pays close attention to detail

  • Strong interest in social events

  • Ability to adapt and learn by experience

  • Works well independently and in a fast paced environment

  • Owns a personal computer
